Joe O'Brien lives in Ballyfermot, Dublin, with his wife and children. He is the author of 14 books - nine books in the Alfie Green series for readers of age 5 to 9, three GAA novels, Little Croker, Feile Fever and Tiger Boots for readers age 9+, Beyond The Cherry Tree, a fantasy novel for age 9+ and his latest novel, Legends' Lair for age 9+.

He has appeared on RTE's 'The DEN', TV3's 'Ireland AM' and many radio shows. Joe's most memorable interview was with Dustin the turkey.

His book, Alfie Green and the chocolate cosmos was shortlisted for 'Children's book of the year' at the Irish Book Awards in 2010.

The Alfie Green series has been translated and published in South Korea and Turkey.

Joe regularly holds readings at libraries, book shops and schools around the country.
